Credits and licences
TabCraft stands on the work of many people. Here is what it is built with, and under what terms.
Software
These libraries run in your browser. TabCraft loads each one unchanged from the jsDelivr network, with its own licence notice still inside the file.
- alphaTab (version 1.8.4): draws the guitar tab and plays it back, and reads the AlphaTeX text format TabCraft produces. Copyright © Daniel Kuschny and contributors, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its source code is at github.com/CoderLine/alphaTab.
- VexFlow (version 5.0.0): draws the music staff in Compose. Copyright © 2023-present VexFlow contributors, and © 2010-2022 Mohit Muthanna Cheppudira, under the MIT license.
- jsPDF (version 2.5.1): lays out the PDF when you export one. Copyright © 2010-2021 James Hall and © 2015-2021 yWorks GmbH, under the MIT license.
alphaTab itself includes these smaller libraries, listed in its own notice:
- TinySoundFont (the synthesiser that plays the guitar sounds): © 2017, 2018 Bernhard Schelling, MIT. github.com/schellingb/TinySoundFont
- SFZero (which TinySoundFont is based on): © 2012 Steve Folta, MIT.
- Haxe Standard Library: © 2005-2025 Haxe Foundation, MIT.
- SharpZipLib: © 2000-2018 SharpZipLib contributors, MIT.
- NVorbis: © 2020 Andrew Ward, MIT.
- libvorbis: © 2002-2020 Xiph.Org Foundation, BSD 3-Clause.
Sounds
The guitar sounds come from MuseScore General, shared under the MIT license. TabCraft plays a trimmed copy with just the four guitars it uses, and its full acknowledgements and copyright notices are in the notices file.
Music
The example pieces are arranged from public-domain or openly licensed scores, mostly from the Mutopia Project and IMSLP. Each piece's page and its credit line in the app name the edition, its typesetter and its licence, and say when the arrangement is shared under the same terms.
