Copyright and takedowns
We respect the rights of composers and publishers. If a piece shared through TabCraft infringes your copyright, tell us and we will remove it.
How to tell us
Send a notice through our feedback form, starting your message with "Copyright notice" and giving an email address we can reply to.
Please include:
- what work you own the rights to (or are authorised to act for);
- the TabCraft link of the piece (it looks like tabcraft.org/s/Ab3dE9xY);
- your name, and an email address or postal address we can reach you at;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
- your signature (typing your full name is fine).
What we do
- We remove the shared piece promptly. Its link then says the piece was removed after a copyright notice.
- We may stop sharing from anyone who repeatedly shares music they don't have the rights to.
- If you shared a piece that was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can reply to us with a counter-notice: your name and contact details, the link, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake, and your agreement to the jurisdiction of a US federal court for your address. We then pass it on to the person who sent the notice, and may restore the piece if they don't start a court action.
Not a shared piece?
Pieces you write or convert in TabCraft stay in your own browser unless you press Share link. The examples are arranged from public-domain or openly licensed scores, credited on each example's page. If you think one of them is wrong, please tell us the same way.
